The Company
Cenelec Standards Inspections Ltd was formed in 1982 by our current Managing Director Alan Gibson to assist companies with their requirements to Inspect & Maintain Electrical & Instrument Equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Operating in both Onshore and Offshore environments Cenelec Standards initially supplied services in-line with the now obsolete standard BS5345 which issued guidance as a recommendation to Inspect & Maintain equipment located in Hazardous Areas.
Changing times have resulted in the most recent standard BSEN60079-17 becoming a mandatory legal requirement to Inspect and Maintain Electrical & Instrument Equipment in potentially Explosive Atmospheres supported by DSEAR (Dangerous Substance Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) and ATEX 94/9EC The equipment Directive.
In 1992 Alan was joined in business by youngest son Jonathan Gibson who along with long serving and committed field personnel and office staff in excess of 50, have ensured a closely bonded organisation with a personal approach to offering the very best of quality and efficiency for Hazardous Area Services.
All field personnel are fully trained and qualified with a minimum of ten years Petrochemical experience, CCNSG Safety passport holders, CompEx approved for Gas, Vapour and Combustible Dust covering Modules EX01-EX06 and fully trained on Cenelec Standards vast Inspection & Maintenance procedures for Close and Detailed grades of Inspection & Repairs as well as the handheld technology software associated with our services. We now also offer Mechanical Compliance assistance.
